Spot Removal Electrocoagulation
What is electrocoagulation?
Electrocoagulation is a safe and non-invasive solution for unsightly and unpleasant skin blemishes. The treatment uses a disposable sterile probe that is gently inserted in the skin or around the blemishes, and a mild current is used to induce coagulation.

Who can benefit from the electrocoagulation treatment?
Electrocoagulation is suitable for everyone of all skin colours except people that have:
The presence of a pacemaker
Poor blood clotting
Suspicion of cancer
Pregnancy and breastfeeding;
Taking anticoagulants
Exacerbation of chronic diseases or acute condition
Allergy to local anesthetics (relative contraindication, possible without anesthesia)
Poor reaction of the body to the effects of electricity (individual intolerance)
Cardiac pathology (severe hypertension, cardiac arrhythmia, recently suffered a heart attack)
Epilepsy
Mental illness
Herpes
Predisposition to keloid scars.
Aftercare:
Clean the wound once or twice daily with water.
After cleaning the wound, apply Bacitracin or Neosporin® for a 5-7 days, up to 2 times per day, after your treatment.
Do not scratch, pick or rub the wound during recovery.
Avoid direct sun exposure.
Keeping the area moist may help relieve itching.
Showering is allowed

How Long is the healing time?
Most blemishes are fully removed or treated at the time of the first appointment with little to no evidence there was anything there prior to the treatment. If there is a post treatment wound it is usually very small and the “outer healing” process takes 2 to 5 days depending on the individual. “Outer healing” is the process where the skin heals from the outside in. The body protects itself to prevent bacteria from entering a wound by healing the outside first, inner healing continues after that for 8 weeks or more.
